Why do I need a Certificate of Fitness (COF) to rent my vehicle?
Modified on: Fri, 16 Aug, 2019 at 8:38 AM
A CoF is a legal requirement for all rental vehicles in New Zealand, taking precedence over a Warrant of Fitness.
If your vehicle is over 3500kgs, it should already have one. If your vehicle currently has a Warrant of Fitness (WOF), you will need to get a COF prior to a renter using your vehicle.
You can get a COF from VINZ, or VTNZ.
