-Why do I need a Certificate of Fitness (COF) to rent my vehicle? (NZ Only)
Modified on: Wed, 26 Apr, 2017 at 3:41 PM
A CoF is a legal requirement for all rental vehicles in New Zealand, taking precedence over a Warrant of Fitness.
If your vehicle is over 3500kgs, it should already have one. If your vehicle currently has a Warrant of Fitness (WOF), you will need to get a COF prior to a renter using your vehicle.
You can get a COF from VINZ, or VTNZ.

This is not applicable in the US.
